    Completed Summer 2019

These are two neighbouring properties with a family “home from home” feel. Each property can be rented as a standalone or they can be rented together to give a greater number of beds and various options for your group.  They are owned by two families; and if you decide to come to Deux Coeurs and/or Petit Coeur we want you to make yourselves at home, and enjoy them as much as we do.

They are equally suitable for winter or summer holidays, are very well equipped and wonderfully relaxing.

Maison Deux Coeurs has 5 bedrooms sleeping 10, with an option of two additional beds on a mezzanine area - see floorplans.  Chalet Petit Coeur has 2 bedrooms sleeping 4, with a good quality sofa bed in the lounge area for an additional 2 people - see floorplans.  So a maximum of 18 can be accommodated.  There is a Hot Tub and Spa Pool with maison Deux Coeurs which would be available to both properties if a joint booking.  Both are available all year round at 16 degrees C, but can be heated to 26 degrees C in the winter for an additional charge.

We work in partnership with local  companies, especially Fiona and Lewis and their team at Sea and Summit Property Services who provide a very friendly and professional service and in-resort support, tailored to your needs.

Samoens is, without doubt, very, very special, but you don’t need to take our word for it! The Telegraph definitely think so… Modern vs medieval: two types of French ski resort, but which is better?

…and so, too, do the Mail…  French Alps Luxury

Samoëns (pronounced locally as ‘sam-wan’) is ancient dialect for ‘seven mountains’ or, in French, ‘septimontain’ – it’s true – from the village you are pretty much surrounded by seven mountains – snowy in winter, green in summer.

Samoens is still a fairly well-kept secret; a historic village in a picturesque valley which just happens to be a ski resort in winter and an activity hub in summer. Not that you’d easily tell though. Yes, it’s obvious what a beautiful historic place it is, what with its ancient streets, marketplace and Church, but the ski resort? You’d hardly know; one subtly placed high speed telecabine, the Grand Massif Express, whisks you discretely up one of the seven mountainsides to the ski domain that starts at Samoens 1600 and, from there, goes up, and up, and up! And as for the summer activity hub – Samoens takes a less obvious natural approach here. The bike trails are very au naturale – lots of grass and rocks, not so much of the artificial parks – although parks are available in nearby Les Carroz. And the watersports? – well they couldn’t come any more natural – the river descends from the equally historic Sixt, down through a spectacular gorge to Samoens itself.

Samoens is popular with the French – those who live there all year round - it is a proper village with local industries like cheese making, stonemasonry and carpentry - but also the French who visit for their holidays. That’s a good sign! And that being the case you can be assured of the very best of restaurants, bars and food shops – superb bakers, butchers, cheese shops, charcuteries and grocers. Don’t worry – there are a couple of the obligatory supermarkets too!

You will find that everyone is very friendly especially if you make an effort to speak a little French - however basic!

We have recently returned from a fabulous week (March 2022) in Maison Deux Coeurs.  We were spoilt by quiet slopes with great snow and brilliant sunshine.  Maison Deux Coeurs impressed too - we were a family of 5 adults (should have been 7 with a baby) and the amount of room worked out well.  The kitchen is well stocked and the big table adjacent makes for a great cooking/eating space.   We loved the hot-tub - after a busy day on the snow it was a real treat.    The ski lift was 5 minutes drive - we thought it would be a bit far to walk in ski boots, but without a car you could easily use the lockers available at the lift and work in normal footwear.  Walking into town was easy .

Samoens is a little gem and we hope that not too many people discover it.

Pretty little chalet ideal for four people that is centrally located to Samoens town centre. Peaceful location with fabulous walks to the riverside and walks. The interior is beautifully appointed and well maintained.

We spent a wonderful week holiday in a small mountain village ideally situated close to shops and ski lifts The cottage is very well equipped, lacks nothing, even the bar is full! If you like walking , a small river passes near the cottage that you can follow to make walk to the village center. We were fortunate to have snow and bright sunshine throughout our stay, the children enjoyed the family holiday we keep a very good memory. Thank you to David and Sue for their hospitality and kindness

We had another great week at Samoëns skiing etc. Kids had a super time as did the parents and grand parents. Chalet was in a super position. Quiet but well within walking distance to the village. We are cooks who enjoy doing our own thing and the kitchen was perfect for this. The pool and hot tub was great for relaxing ( once we mastered the temperature control. Hopefully we will be back next year all being well! Always our best family holiday. Would definitely recommend for a family/group holiday

A great stay at Maison Deux Coeurs - plenty of space for 2 families and the house is very well-equipped: both from an entertainment perspective as well as a practical one (good sized oven, sharp kitchen knives, hair dryers, PS4, squashy arm chairs). Huge hilarity when we couldn't find the top floor on arrival (it was very late, to be fair...). Comfy beds, spacious bedrooms, plenty of hot water. Easy access to skiing - I would definitely recommend leaving your kit at the ski hire shop at the bottom of the gondola (Xtreme Glisses) - it is then an easy walk to and from the gondola and NOT in ski boots. Lots of lovely delis in Samoens for local cheese and meat. We'd also recommend Massif Cooks who come in and cook for a couple of nights (and wash up) - a welcome treat when there are 10 of you to cater for. If you are arriving late, Kukipegs' breakfast hamper on arrival made life very easy for the Sunday morning - we were able to head straight for the ski hire shop to get on the slopes as early as possible. If you have a car, a morning breakfast run to the bakery by the gondola is essential (they open at 6.30a.m. and have the most delicious fresh breads and pastries - and so much less busy than the one in the village centre). The hot tub was very welcome after skiing - and we understand it is being replaced by an even better one for next year - something to look forward to. A top ski holiday all in all. Thank you Maison Deux Coeurs
