David We had a great time in Samoens skiing made extra special by staying in your lovely chalet. It was so convenient to the Ski bus and we even walked back some afternoons stopping at the Sherpa (supermarket) for a few groceries etc. There were 11 of us and it was never cramped (5 couples and me). The 2 lounge areas were handy as it ended up with the 'older' persons at one end reading or dozing and the other end was used by the 'younger' members playing games and having a quiet drink. The hot tub was absolutely lovely and warmed the bones and helped with the aches and pains and the views of the mountains were beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked and enabled us to have a 'Come Dine With Me' competition with a different couple cooking each night. The only thing we missed was an electric hand whisk to beat the eggs for a pavlova. The chalet was very warm and we certainly chilled out after a hard days skiing. We love the Grand Massif range and hope to return and would certainly stay at Deux Coeurs again.

David, Sue, Thank you for staying in your fantastic house. It was like a real home for us. Comfortable, cosy, luxureous.... All the nine of us really enjoyed being there and it made it a great vacation. Especially the moments we could not ski beacause of the wether, it was not at all a problem to spend the day in the house. For a group of nine, your house offers a lot of privacy and comfort. Samoens is a nice place to be. Bethan and her husband have surprised us twice with a real good dinner and there is good support from this local team if needed. Your excellent kitchen made it possible to coock ourselves as well. And the large dining table was a perfect place to start the day with a fresh breakfast and a good cup of coffee or tea. We've never had such a great place to be during a skiing holiday. Most of the times the apartment is too small, not well equiped and offers no privacy. Your chalet is unique!! Thanks again for staying there and for you making it a wonderfull time for all of us!!!

We stayed at Deux Coeurs for two weeks in August and had a wonderful time. The house is very comfortable and real treat to stay in. We cannot think of anything negative to say about the house or its standard and extent of equipment/fittings (including excellent cookbooks and games etc. The weather was great while we were there so we enjoyed the hot tub and jet pool everyday, sometimes twice! My little boy (aged 5) who is learning to swim particularly enjoyed practising in the jet pool. We also visited the outdoor pool in Samoens which is reasonably priced and worth a visit. We found the house to be in an excellent location and the surrounding views are spectacular. The walk into town is very easy and took about 10 minutes when strolling. We enjoyed walking down by the river to the park and lake, it took us about half an hour. Again, the views on this walk of the river and mountains are beautiful. In fact it's easier to say that Samoens is beautiful wherever you look! The lake/park is great for relaxing and activities e.g. play park, pony rides, golf driving range into a lake (lots of fun!) and there is also the Indiana Parc which is a high rope course with three levels, for those who dare! During our stay we also went to Morzine, Chamonix, Mont Blanc and Annecy. At Morzine and Chamonix we enjoyed the different luge rides that were there. We took the train up to the glacier of Mont Blanc which was a great experience. We enjoyed going into the ice cave, even if there were 430 steps up and down, it was worth it! Annecy was lovely and we rented motor boats to go out on the lake for an hour - lots of fun! There is a small village called on the far side of Morzine calledLes Lindarets which is also known as "Goat Village" which is well worth a visit as long as you like goats! We also went to Sixt Fer a Cheval which is absolutely stunning to see and walk around. The cafe there also serves delicious sorbets and ice-creams. In Samoens we enjoyed catching the gondola up the mountain to see the even more stunning views and watch the parapenters running and jumping off the top! One of the lovely things about Samoens is that all day you can see parapenters filling the skies! Its also good to see them land so easily at the park too. We enjoyed many days out, but also lots of chilled days too. It was always lovely to get back to Maison Deux Coeurs! We ate out at a few restaurants:- La Clarine, La Serrac, La Tornalta and Mezzanine, all very nice. We also enjoyed barbeques at Deux Coeurs too. We shopped at the Super U in Tangines or the more local Carrefour. For barbeques we liked to visit the butchers in Samoens near to the Market Square, which is always busy! The pork espellete sausages are particularly delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Samoens at Maison Deux Coeurs and hope to return! It's not a question of if, but when!

Have just returned from a wonderful 10 days at Deux Coeurs. It was really hot, 35C, so thank goodness for the pool- it was great! Must say that despite the great heat, the house remained pleasantly cool, and for those needing respite from the heat, there were cool places indoors. Wonderful holiday for the family- children were able to cycle (quite strenuous, I believe), they went to lake and swam and did the "Go-ape", white water rafting etc. and at the house, the Xbox and technology that children enjoy,a good choice of DVDs, CDs, books and boxed games, as well as the pool and hot tub. We all enjoyed the facilities to barbecue and dine on the decking, with the gazebo to shelter from sun or wind, and to sunbathe round the pool. As a family we ate out in Samoens at delightful restaurants offering traditional French food, and when we chose to eat in, in the spacious dining area, a visit to the market was a wonderful opportunity to buy local food - the cheeses are fantastic, and the charcuterie is renowned, not to mention the irresistible patisseries from the local boulangerie. The wine was quite new to us, as it is generally unavailable in UK, but we have all developed a taste for it, it is good. The house is very well equipped, ( a Gaggia coffee maker!) and we all found the beds very comfortable. A visit to Sixt was memorable - a most beautiful little village higher up the valley, but we were disappointed that we couldn't go up the ski lift to the little restaurant at the top. The prices at Sixt were better than in Samoens, so if looking for souvenirs.......and we had a lovely lunch at a super restaurant there. The little train will take you to Sixt from Samoens on a guided tour, but we didn't avail ourselves of that. We did find prices on some things high, but there is a Carrefour in Samoens, which supplies most of our needs, and has a good choice of meat and veg and fruit, don't expect a fish counter, however! The market on a Wednesday is wonderful, but get there early, nip round quickly , as it closes at midday. Husband bought a snazzy little hat for 1 euro, and I bought a lovely pair of hand made ear-rings for 13 euros. The house is well situated for those who enjoy a leisurely stroll either into town or round the wonderful old farms in the valley. There are shady walks/cycling by the river and the house is right by the river, which is so clear, but quite turbulent, especially after the spectacular thunder storm we experienced one night, with sheet lightening which lit up the entire valley, and unbelievably heavy rain, but it just cleared away, leaving everywhere refreshed. The tap water is really good to drink,, straight off the mountain, and makes a good cup of tea. Can't recommend Deux Coeurs enough-a wonderful place which certainly ticked all the boxes for us ( all 3 generations!) and there is good support from the local team if needed. We found the guidelines for using facilities in the house clear and helpful, and for all the local amenities. Thank you for a stress free holiday.

Hi David and Roger. Many, many thanks for letting us stay in your fabulous house in Samoen. I speak on behalf of all us hairy a@?ed (Roger's name for us) bikers when I say we had a tremendous time. The whole area is a playground, for many, the skiing, for the adventurous, the paragliding and WW rafting, for us it was the fabulous roads to play on. The pool was great, tip - don't try and show off , as one if my mates did, by doing a forward roll from the hot tub! Even when sober - it hurts! Superbly equipped kitchen, lovely rooms, comfortable beds and no queues for the loos! Had a lovely meal at the Mezzanine by the two 'nice' gentlemen. A superb trip (not allowed to call it a holiday - we keep our wives happy by calling it that) spoilt only by my lovely BMW dropping its engine oil all over the A26 north of Reims . Rapt least it was o the way home! Thanks again Roger and David, we all loved it! You lucky sods! Best regards Simon. Ps photos to follow.
